Duties: Responsible for various software development and engineering activities supporting the delivery of autonomy algorithm software to the overall system solution within our autonomy software algorithms components. Perform software development activities such as software architecture, design, coding, unit testing, integration, deployment, and maintenance within their assigned autonomy algorithms software component. Develop, implement and test autonomy algorithms with the areas of behaviors and path planning algorithms to make decisions for our autonomous vehicle to navigate a highly complex road structure, understand and react to the environment around the vehicle in real-time. Create software to utilize sensor data from perception and map data from mapping teams respectively to make our autonomous vehicle safe, reliable and aware on road sharing with other human/robot users.

Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or related software engineering technical field, or alternatively Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or related software engineering technical field with 5 years of post- baccalaureate autonomy algorithm software experience. Experience must include: C++ software development and unit testing in Linux environment; Probability and linear algebra; Code and unit testing of autonomy algorithms for application within embedded application; Vehicle physics, motion control, dynamics and kinematics ROS (Robot Operating System); Linux development tool chains.

Position located in Blacksburg, VA but eligible to work from anywhere in the U.S.

Salary range: Min - 122,300.00 -Max - 183,500.00
