Technical Sales Engineer (Remote)

We seek a highly motivated Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing Commercial Team. Reporting to the EVP of Sales, you will leverage your technical expertise and sales acumen to drive the adoption of our cutting-edge preclinical generative AI software within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, demonstrating how our solutions can address their unique challenges and accelerate drug discovery.
We are welcoming applicants from Canada, the US, and the UK for this position.

You Will:

  • Develop and execute tailored technical AI sales strategies for each customer, including architecture drawings and customized presentations.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Science, Operations, Procurement, IT, Finance) within pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations highlighting the technical value and competitive advantages of BenchSci's AI software.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and lead qualification to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Partnerships, Product, Sales) to ensure a seamless customer experience and drive successful outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
  • Provide technical training and understanding to internal customer facing teams

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of proven success selling complex software solutions (ideally SaaS) to life science and pharmaceutical clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales quotas.
  • Experience selling enterprise software, ERP, or procurement solutions is a plus.
  • Technical certifications in AI or Data Science are a plus.
  • Internal candidates are eligible for this role after three years of experience beating targets.
  • Experience selling into pharma is a must-haveExperience/ track record of success delighting customers selling enterprise software, ERP, or procurement solutions.
  • A deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and experience selling pharmaceuticals is required.
  • Proven ability to build and deliver credible business value prop across multiple levels (ex. CXO, VP, Director levels of Science, Discovery, Innovation, Procurement, Operations and IT)Committed to driving projects to completion.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate complex concepts.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (primarily within the US).
