About the Role

We’re looking for a Sales Development Representative Lead to build, mentor, and scale our outbound and inbound prospecting function at Botpress — the leading platform for creating and deploying AI-powered chatbots.
You’ll manage a small but growing team of SDRs while remaining hands-on with prospecting strategy, pipeline generation, and process optimization.
Reporting to the Head of Growth, you’ll work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Product to ensure Botpress reaches the right audiences — developers, startups, and enterprises exploring conversational AI.
We’re hiring this role to build a world-class top-of-funnel engine that can keep pace with our accelerating product adoption and enterprise demand.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of SDRs to meet and exceed pipeline and meeting-generation goals.
  • Define and continuously refine prospecting strategy (ICP, messaging, cadence, tools).
  • Collaborate with Marketing to align inbound lead flow, content, and campaigns with SDR outreach.
  • Personally handle high-value prospects, set an example for quality outreach, and refine pitch messaging.
  • Build and report on key SDR metrics — conversion rates, outreach efficiency, lead quality.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to improve the handoff process and optimize qualification criteria.
  • Hire, onboard, and train new SDRs as the team grows.
  • Implement and manage tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Apollo, or Outreach to streamline workflow.
  • Regularly meet with Product and Marketing to share customer insights from early conversations.
  • Represent Botpress at industry events, meetups, and webinars to engage the AI and developer ecosystem.

3–5 years of experience in sales development or business development, with at least 1–2 years in a team lead or mentoring role.

Proven track record of building predictable outbound and inbound lead pipelines in a SaaS or PaaS company.

Excellent leadership and coaching abilities — you know how to motivate and level up your team.

Data-driven mindset; you use metrics to identify what’s working and where to improve.

Deep understanding of sales processes, lead qualification, and CRM best practices.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment.
