About the role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Automotive Logistics to oversee and enhance our logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and top-notch service delivery.

The Director of Automotive Logistics will be the key stakeholder for all local and cross-province logistics activities for Clutch, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution of company-owned vehicles. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management in the automotive sector. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and a track record of driving operational improvements and achieving logistical excellence.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute logistics strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the entire logistics and supply chain process including inbound and outbound customer vehicles as well as wholesale and dealer partners.
  • Lead and manage logistics teams, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Optimize logistics operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a lean workforce management strategy.
  • Manage company-owned fleet to ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of logistics activities.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and transportation providers.
  • Implement and manage advanced logistics technologies and systems.
  • Prepare and manage the logistics department budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.

We’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to be on call to support a team that works 7 days a week.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in logistics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the automotive industry and last mile customer facing logistics experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale logistics operations and leading logistics teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and technology.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
