Role Overview

We seek an Engineering Lead / VP of Manufacturing to design, develop, and scale DropGenie’s consumable manufacturing processes. This role is critical in driving manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while leading a high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead RCA, DFM, PFMEA, and statistical process control initiatives
• Oversee process validation and QC test protocols
• Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with product scaling goals
• Manage vendors or establish in-house manufacturing capabilities
• Analyze manufacturing data to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Transition prototypes to scalable production by refining workflows and ensuring manufacturability
• Build and manage an interdisciplinary team while fostering collaboration

Requirements

• MS in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering management, manufacturing transfer, and scaling.
• Experience in developing high-performance consumables for life sciences applications.
• Expertise in material behavior, surface coatings, microfabrication, and automation.
• Proven track record in vendor management and quality assurance.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with automation and high-throughput manufacturing processes
• Understanding of cost drivers in consumable production and ability to optimize for cost efficiency.
• Prior experience in startups or fast-paced environments preferred
• Familiarity with instrument certification and software integration
