Software Development Engineer -3

We are looking for “Software Development Engineer -3” to design and implement easy-to-use features for BIG-IP product. BIG-IP offers the most comprehensive solution for security and traffic management for apps spanning on-premises and multi-cloud architectures. This position provides technical opportunities that can make a significant impact on how our customers use BIG-IP and manage highly secure and performant applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java as the primary technology.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Enhance existing applications built using JSP, Angular, PHP, SQL, and HTML & CSS.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver robust features.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Drive development of complex UI features and ensure high performance across devices and browsers.
- Optimize rendering, responsiveness, and accessibility of web applications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
- Contribute to system design discussions, architecture improvements, and technical roadmap planning.
- Write unit test, functional test and integration test automation
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Ensure software quality by participating in testing, documentation, and deployment processes.
- Handle security vulnerability issues, customer issues & performance issues
- Translate design mockups and business requirements into high-quality code.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong proficiency in Java
- Strong experience with JSP for server-side rendering.
- Working knowledge of Angular or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Solid SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
- Fundamental understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, and web technologies.
- Preferred to have reactjs knowledge.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Web Performance APIs, Accessibility APIs, and Security best practices.
- Experience integrating front-end with RESTful APIs, and backend services.
- Good familiarity with REST services and data formats such as JSON, XML
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation (Cypress).
- Expertise with Continuous Integration and Agile development methodology
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to mentor team members and contribute to a positive engineering culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or above, Graduate degree preferred) in computer science or equivalent professional experience with 5+ years.
- Passion for learning new technologies, and a track record of doing so.
- Ability to work flexible hours for better collaboration with international teams.
