Position Summary
This position is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complete software components. The role involves building and maintaining high-quality code for complex product modules, independently managing assigned projects, and serving as a technical expert for project-specific issues. The Senior Software Engineer may also collaborate with Principal, Sr. Principal Engineers, and Architects to define and refine product design aspects. Additionally, the Senior Software Engineer will maintain and manage both in-house–developed and commercial tools used for software and systems, along with all related development, support, and operational activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand Automation Tool requirements and lead and direct the teams in implementing the requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to peers and juniors.
- Provide support for CI/CD pipelines and assist in maintaining both in-house and commercial tools used within those pipelines.
- Assist the development, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.
- Works with others to implement process improvements.
- Recommends and maintains technical design methodologies, processes and standards
- Works with development engineers to correct Test Automation errors.
- Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Solid knowledge and experience with DevOps, network and web technologies
- Knowledge of programming langauages like Python and AWS,Azure cloud technologies will be an added advantage.
- 5+ years programming experience preferably in Python/GoLang and API Development.
- 1-2 years of experience in Linux administration.
- Experience in Frontend - React/Angular , HTML, CSS & Javascript.
- 3+ years of experience on Kubernetes and Docker and CICD.
- Knowledge on Virtualisation is a plus.
- Knowledge on Ansible is a plus.
- Analytical / trouble-shooting skills.
- Knowledge on Terraform is a plus.
- Knowledge on Cloud technologies is a plus.
- 5+ years programming experience preferably in a software language that supports F5 product line
- 5+ years product development experience in embedded operating systems
- Excellent analytical / trouble-shooting and debugging skills
- Successfully manage ambiguity in work.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications
- Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment
- Demonstrates emerging leadership qualities. Serves as de facto lead in small group interaction.
- Can design and implement new functionality in multiple feature areas, while developing subject matter expertise in at least one.
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
- Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 – 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
