Position Summary
Join a revolutionary team of Distributed Cloud Data platform, Analytics, Cloud service specialists to build core data system, analytics, telemetry, AI/Generative AI powered services at scale in the growing field of multi-cloud SaaS (Software as a Service), Security and Multi Cloud Networking solutions.
We are looking for a Sr Manger to join our Data platform and engineering team to accelerate data platform and data and telemetry missions in the F5 Distributed Cloud Platform Group.
This role plays a critical role in leading a data-centric, AI-first, and platform-first strategy, driving the design and development of scalable data systems and observability platforms for next-generation SaaS products.
Responsibilities
Foster a human-first engineering culture by leading with empathy, kindness, and integrity in day-to-day interactions and decision-making.
Create an environment of psychological safety for engineers. Promote collaboration across teams and functions and align stakeholders toward shared outcomes.
Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for data platform strategy, building scalable data systems, and observability platforms for SaaS products.
Drive the architecture, design, and evolution of data pipelines, storage, and analytics
Drive observability strategies and performance monitoring of system
Design/develop/enhance data centric, AI/Gen AI powered services
Design/develop/enhance telemetry and metrics pipeline and services
Partner with product, security, SRE, to define platform capabilities, SLAs, and long-term roadmaps, translating business and product requirements into execution plans.
Mentor and grow engineers through coaching, technical guidance, performance management, and career development.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience (12+ years). Technical lead or technical management experience (7+ years).
Proficiency in Cloud native and programming languages such as GO, Rust, Java, Python.
Architecture and hands-on experience in data platform and data intelligence products.
Proficiency in data/ stream processing (e.g., Kafka, Pubsub, Dataflow,Vector, Spark, Flink), data warehouse and data lake (e.g., ClickHouse, StarRocks, Elasticsearch, Big Query, Iceberg, Delta Lake), analytics and AI platform (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake).
Experience in building data platforms at scale, with high performance and reliability.
Experience using ML/AI, Semantic search, Agentic, and Generative AI techniques in telemetry, platform, product growth or engineering productivity.
Experience in automation of data system, analytics pipeline across on Prem and Cloud.
Expertise in data model, schema registration and evolution, and compliance in data pipelines (e.g. GDPR, PII masking, encryption).
Experience with logs, metrics, Prometheus, Open Telemetry, Arrow, distributed tracing.
Experience with data system observability, monitoring, alerting.
Experience in SaaS multi-tenancy, metering & billing, telemetry.
Experience with container and orchestration, Kubernetes and Microservice.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and end to end debugging skills in data system and pipeline with extensive knowledge from network, and Infra technologies.
