Engineering Manager – Common Infra Team (TMOS BIG‑IP)
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead the newly formed Common Infra Team within the TMOS BIG‑IP organization. This team is responsible for building and maintaining shared infrastructure components and ensuring system integration validation across multiple product areas.
In this role, you will manage a team of talented engineers, provide technical direction, and foster collaboration across platform, product, QA, and release teams. You will play a key role in defining strategies for common components, driving quality, and ensuring smooth integration across the BIG‑IP ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.
Provide guidance on architecture, design, and best practices to ensure high-quality output.
Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Technical Delivery
Drive delivery of shared infrastructure components and system integration validation on schedule.
Define high-level architecture and detailed designs for common libraries, services, and tooling.
Act as a hands-on leader when needed—supporting design, coding, and troubleshooting.
Track progress, manage risks, and communicate status clearly to stakeholders across global teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with platform, product, QA, and release teams to ensure seamless integration and compatibility.
Define and track dependencies across multiple product areas impacted by shared components.
Partner with architects and product managers to align technical priorities with business objectives.
Customer-Centric Focus
Support customer cases related to integration and upgrades, ensuring smooth adoption of shared components.
Maintain high standards of reliability, security, and performance for infrastructure used across products.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Encourage a learner mindset within the team, fostering innovation and adaptability.
Drive initiatives to improve integration processes, automation, and validation frameworks.
Desired Skills & Experience
Technical Leadership
Proven experience leading software engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
Ability to guide architectural decisions and technical strategy for shared infrastructure components.
Strong understanding of system-level integration, validation, and quality assurance practices.
Collaboration & Agility
Deep experience working in Agile environments and managing global teams.
Excellent communication skills—able to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
Track record of influencing cross-functional priorities and driving alignment across multiple teams.
Effective Management
Skilled at building and scaling high-performance teams, creating alignment among stakeholders, and guiding career growth.
Strong ability to balance immediate problem-solving with long-term strategic thinking.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of software development experience, including prior leadership or management roles.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on reliability and customer impact.
