F5 is seeking a Community Evangelist. In this role, you’ll craft engaging presentations, technical tutorials, workshops, sample code, and videos that highlight real-world use cases, while representing F5 at industry conferences and virtual events. You'll represent the entirety of F5's platform including BIG-IP, NGINX, Distributed Cloud and platform operational tooling.
Blending deep technical expertise with storytelling and community building, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping F5 top-of-mind for our core audiences. You’ll explore intersections with emerging technologies like AI, helping users unlock new possibilities. Primary Responsibilities
- Represent F5 at conferences and virtual events, showcasing demos and connecting with users in authentic conversation.
- Engage with users on F5's community forums by publishing technical thought-leadership content and actively responding to technical questions.
- Build relationships with industry thought leaders, influencers, analysts, and open-source communities to strengthen F5's communities.
- Create and deliver deep-dive technical posts, workshops, videos, and tutorials that illustrate practical use cases.
- Develop and maintain sample configurations, code and reference apps that help users get started quickly.
- Act as a bridge between F5's communities, industry communities and internal teams—actively gather user feedback and feature requests to help shape product requirements and influence the roadmap.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering or developer/DevOps open source tooling roles in related technologies.
- At least 3–5 years in sales engineering, Field CTO, developer advocacy, developer relations, or similar external-facing technical roles.
- Technical Depth: Hands-on experience with proxy technologies such as F5 BIG-IP, NGINX, Kubernetes networking contructs. DevOps experience with CI/CD pipeline, APIs, python and automation. Familiarity with AI, MCP, web application security and authentication technologies. Ability to quickly dive deep into brand new technologies.
- Evangelism Expertise: Proven ability to tell stories that resonate with engineers, developers, Cloud Architects and technical decision makers through talks, workshops, content, demos, or community building.
- Scalable Mindset: Experience packaging technical solutions into reusable assets (configurations, code samples, workshops, demos) rather than one-off implementations.
- Strong Communicator: Ability to translate between deep technical detail and executive-level outcomes. Skilled at articulating solutions to real-world problems at scale.
- Ability to effectively lead & own project initiatives independently.
- Great teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, working across a global organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including public presentations.
- Must be willing to travel extensively to attend technical conferences and represent F5 at industry events.
Qualifications
