The Digital Sovereignty Architect Job Overview:

The Digital Sovereignty Architect role is part of the Solutions Architect (SA) job family. The SA’s primary function is to work collaboratively with sales teams identifying appropriate F5 solutions to address customers’ business needs. They provide technical expertise and business understanding across specific or multiple industries. They champion our customers’ requirements and ensure they are understood across other teams within F5 such as Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Product Development.

The SA also shares knowledge and educates the solution engineering team internally and externally via whitepapers, trainings, demos, blogs, tech-tips, presentations etc.

To be effective, an SA needs to blend strong business acumen with excellent technical skills and knowledge on both F5 products and the “eco-system” that we work in. He/she needs to be an authority in his/her field of expertise and act as a trusted advisor towards our customers.

While the traditional Solution Architect is focused on going deep on a specific technology, the Digital Sovereignty Architect role is meant to be much broader and wider. The Digital Sovereignty Architect understands and stays up to date with the regulatory landscape regarding all aspects of sovereignty in different parts of the EMEA region. He/she supports the product teams better understand the requirements in the region to help drive product development, and helps marketing and communications teams to develop positioning messages for ADSP within the sovereignty context. He/she is driving architectural discussions with our customers, helping account teams overcome obstacles related to sovereignty in their specific region and/or industry vertical, and develop opportunities to broaden our coverage in their accounts with our full portfolio of solutions.

What you’ll do?

• Support accounts teams on strategic opportunities in the EMEA region where sovereignty is a key consideration, and provide architectural guidance leveraging all components in the F5 solution portfolio to meet these requirements. The goal is to listen carefully to the customer’s needs, understand the local regulatory landscape and then position the best possible solutions within the F5 portfolio addressing those requirements.
• Play the role of an evangelist, and thought leader in the area of digital sovereignty
• Collaborate with other solution architects and internal business leaders to share ideas, identify common customer pain points and trends and identify appropriate F5 solutions
• Work closely with our internal product management and services teams and provide technical and business understanding for product launches and updates that would be beneficial for our customers
• Provide mentorship as needed to the Solution Engineering community in the organization and make sure they are enabled and equipped to position our solutions correctly in the context of digital sovereignty

How you’ll do it:

• Playing the role of an evangelist, thought leader, mentor in the field of Digital Sovereignty
• Act as a liaison between Sales and Marketing, Product Management, Product Development
• Working with strategic business opportunities in your region

What you’ll bring:

• Technical & industry skills
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of digital sovereignty and it’s implications for vendors of IT and security solutions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks related to digital resiliency and sovereignty in the European Union and other countries in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
  • Understanding of application delivery solutions (ADC, DNS, CDN) in hardware, software and SaaS based architectures
  • Understanding of application security solutions (WAF, DDOS mitigation, bot defense, API security, LLM security) in hardware, software and SaaS based architectures
  • Knowledge of F5 Solutions is a bonus
• Other skills
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Public speaking skills (events, conferences)
  • Experience with regulatory and compliance frameworks and how to translate these into product requirements
  • Experience with publishing whitepapers/solution articles, blogs, tech-tips etc
  • Experience with product demonstrations, value propositions and technical presentations to technical and business leads
  • Ability to adapt your message to your audience
  • Architectural problem solving skills
  • Self learner and curious in new technologies
  • Strong business mindset – translating technical features into business outcomes
• Experience & certifications
  • 8+ years of related industry experience
  • Relevant certifications a plus
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience
