Job Title: U.S. Benefits Administrator

Overview

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day‑to‑day administration, compliance, and communication of the organization’s U.S. employee benefits programs. This role ensures a high‑quality employee experience by managing benefits operations with accuracy, efficiency, and a strong customer‑service mindset. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of U.S. benefits regulations and enjoys working in a detail‑oriented, fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Benefits Administration

  • Manage daily administration of health, welfare, and retirement plans, including medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA, life insurance, disability, EAP, and 401(k).
  • Process employee enrollments, changes, terminations, and qualifying life event (QLE) adjustments.
  • Assist employees with benefit questions, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with third‑party administrators, brokers, and carriers to ensure accurate plan operations.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, Section 125, COBRA, and other federal/state regulations.
  • Support annual compliance filings (e.g., 5500, SAR, ACA reporting).
  • Assist with annual audits, including 401(k) nondiscrimination testing and plan audits.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and benefit records.

Open Enrollment Support

  • Support planning and execution of annual open enrollment, including system setup, testing, and communication.
  • Assist with updating employee materials, plan summaries, and digital content.
  • Provide employee guidance during the enrollment period to ensure a smooth experience.

Vendor & System Management

  • Collaborate with benefits vendors to resolve escalated employee issues.
  • Maintain accuracy in HRIS/benefits administration systems; audit data regularly.
  • Help manage file feeds, eligibility files, and carrier connections.
  • Process vendor payments.

Employee Communication

  • Develop clear and accessible benefits communications.
  • Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and provide ongoing education to employees.
  • Support wellness initiatives and benefits engagement programs.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2–4+ years of U.S. benefits administration experience (health & welfare and/or retirement programs).
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Experience with HRIS/benefits platforms – Workday a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer‑service focus and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting multi‑state or multi‑site employee populations.
  • Experience working with brokers or third‑party administrators.
  • 401k and/or international experience a plus.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid option
  • Ability to work during peak periods such as open enrollment, annual filings, and audits.

The annual base pay for this position is: $72,000.00 - $108,000.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
