Position Summary:
F5 Legal is seeking a Senior Manager to lead and scale the operational infrastructure of our global Legal Department. This role reports to the Senior Director, Legal Operations and is responsible for driving operational excellence across all aspects of the legal function. You will partner closely with Legal leadership, Finance, IT, Compliance, Sales, and other teams to ensure the Legal organization operates with measurable efficiency and technological excellence, to meet the demands of a fast-moving, dynamic global technology company.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage, guide, and mentor the Legal Operations team, ensuring clear ownership, alignment, and accountability for major initiatives.
- Oversee our suite of legal tools and technology, ensuring they are optimized, well-integrated, and aligned with business needs.
- Lead core Legal Operations functional areas, including but not limited to: Financial Management, Vendor and Outside Counsel Management, Innovation, Technology and Tool Management, Knowledge Management, Communications, and Practice Operations.
- Drive the Legal technology stack to increase efficiency, improve data-driven decision-making, and free legal talent for high-value strategic work.
- Partner with the F5 IT/Digital team to leverage and build solutions for legal analytics, dashboards, knowledge management, contract insights and operational reporting.
- Design solutions that connect business needs with technology.
- Support the Legal Department budget management (outside counsel, technology spend, and internal expenses) including forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis in partnership with Finance.
- Manage outside counsel and external vendor spend and guidelines to ensure effective partnerships and strong ROI.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge management collateral, including repositories, data integrity standards and review cadences.
- Serve as the voice of the Legal Department through clear, strategic communications and targeted campaigns.
- Build and sustain strong Legal Operations support that enables the team to focus on high-impact, far-reaching initiatives.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience building and leveraging data analytics and dashboard capability to measure performance, inform resource planning, and enable data-driven strategic decision making.
- Experience leading or supporting AI, automation, or data-driven transformation initiatives within a legal department.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate Legal Operations teams with urgency and focus, driving high-quality results through ownership and collaboration.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Embodies a positive, high-performance, human-first “get it done” mindset that is receptive to feedback, pushes for excellence, and inspires others to overcome challenges.
- Working knowledge of workflow and automation systems (e.g. ServiceNow, Ironclad, Salesforce, Icertis.)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Operations experience
- 8+ years in Legal Operations, with 3–5+ years of people management experience.
- Global technology industry experience strongly preferred, with the ability to collaborate quickly, remain agile and embrace change in a fast-faced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, business or accounting (JD, LLM, or MBA a plus, but not required).
- 2+ years of experience developing reports and data analytics to track KPIs.

The annual base pay for this position is: $146,400.00 - $219,600.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
