Senior Platform Engineer
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Mejuri, you will design and manage our cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience. You will optimize our CI/CD pipelines, champion best practices around release management, and architect development tooling that empowers our entire engineering organization. Joining the Platform team at Mejuri means driving critical initiatives such as:
- Multi-Region Failure Mitigation: Building resiliency to ensure our e-commerce platform meets and exceeds a 99.99% SLA.
- Revamping Delivery Pipelines: Adopting continuous deployment principles and maturing our CI/CD capabilities.
- Enabling Infrastructure as Code: Standardizing our infrastructure with tools like Terraform for reproducibility and maintainability.
What you'll do
- Infrastructure Improvements & Best Practices: Recommend, design, and implement highly available, scalable infrastructure solutions aligned with industry best practices.
- CI/CD Workflow Optimization: Streamline and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and release management workflows, ensuring rapid and safe deployment of features.
- Development Tooling: Architect and manage development tools and platforms that enhance productivity across engineering teams.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Scale our observability stack—extending monitoring, logging, and alerting for services and infrastructure resources.
- Disaster Recovery: Plan and implement disaster recovery strategies, including multi-region support and failover testing.
- On-Call Responsibilities: Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure around-the-clock stability and performance of Mejuri’s e-commerce platform.
KPIS
- Platform SLA: Maintain and improve the 99.99% SLA for Mejuri’s e-commerce platform.
- Deployment Velocity & Stability: Increase deployment frequency while minimizing production incidents.
- Infrastructure as Code Adoption: Grow coverage and reliability of IaC across all infrastructure components.
What you'll bring to the team
- Cloud Expertise (GCP Focus): Hands-on experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, GKE, CloudDNS, Memorystore, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Functions.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Strong Kubernetes and Docker background, with a track record of managing container-based workloads.
- Infrastructure as Code: In-depth Terraform knowledge for provisioning and configuring cloud infrastructure.
- CI/CD & Release Management: Experience in large-scale build/release engineering environments with strong CI/CD principles.
- Security Best Practices & Tooling: Demonstrated ability to implement security across cloud infrastructure using tools for vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, secret management, and continuous monitoring.
- Observability & Monitoring: Familiarity with platforms like Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Python, Ruby, or Go, with a passion for automating repetitive tasks.
- System Administration: Experience administering and maintaining servers, networks, and cloud-based services.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally on design patterns, system architecture, and best practices
Nice to haves:
- Multi-Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS, Elasticache, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda) is a bonus.
- Multi-Region Enablement: Proven track record of designing multi-region or multi-zone architectures for high availability.
- GCP Certification: Any relevant GCP certifications are a plus.
- Open-Source Contributions: Enthusiasm and experience contributing to open-source projects.
