Subordinate: None.Our current needs: Centralize and professionalize the purchasing function to support growth; build an efficient procurement process from request to invoice with robust supplier management.Responsibilities: Primary supplier contact with proactive communication. Collect/clarify needs with internal stakeholders. Prepare/manage RFQs/RFPs (lab equipment, components, services). Analyze quotations and recommend based on cost/quality/lead time/risk. Negotiate terms and conditions. Manage full purchasing cycle and follow-ups. Track deliveries and resolve issues. Maintain/optimize supplier database. Contribute to inventory management. Create/maintain SOPs and governance for purchasing. Improve process performance, especially cycle time. Ensure compliance with policies/regulations.Education/experience: 5+ years in procurement/purchasing/supply chain or similar. DEC in administration/supply chain/operations/industrial engineering (bachelor’s an asset). Experience in high-tech/hardware/industrial/lab environment (asset). International suppliers experience (asset). Purchasing electronics/cryogenics/scientific/lab equipment (asset).Sought expertise: Strong RFP/RFQ, PO, and negotiation (Priority 1). Understanding of basic inventory management and willingness to shape processes (Priority 2). Import/export basics and Incoterms (asset). ERP/procurement systems and structured data; strong Excel/M365; ability to read technical documentation; knowledge of electronics/cryogenics/lab equipment/quantum tech (asset).Sought profile: Organized/rigorous, strong negotiation/influence, autonomous/proactive, service-oriented communication, prioritize in startup environment, team player with scientists/engineers/operations, continuous improvement mindset.Salary: $79 000 – $90 000.
