Permanent, 40 hours per week. Team: Mechanical Design and Manufacturing. Supervisor: MDM Team Lead. About NQ: building error-reducing quantum processors. Our current needs: resourceful Materials Scientist to improve processor performance by leading R&D on fabrication techniques for high-yield, reproducible SRF cavities; develop in-house fabrication and in-line characterization strategy; design/manage experiments to identify performance drivers and variability; translate insights into scalable manufacturing improvements; collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Education/experience: Master’s/PhD in Materials Science/ChemE/Physics/Eng Physics or related; 4+ years hands-on process improvement; project management in fabrication environments. Sought expertise: materials science (preferably SRF cavities), root cause/failure analysis, SOP development, hands-on characterization (optical/confocal microscopy, AFM, SEM, surface roughness, elemental analysis).
