Collaboration: EM Design Team, Quantum Hardware Team and Nanofabrication.Our current needs: Join the MDM team to improve processor performance by leading R&D on fabrication techniques ensuring high yield and reproducibility of SRF cavities. Develop in-house fabrication and in-line characterization strategy to improve cavity performance and consistency.Key responsibilities: Lead experimental R&D to improve 3D cavity performance, quality, yield, and reproducibility. Design/manage/execute experiments to identify performance drivers. Develop/refine materials and process strategies across fabrication, surface treatments, and post-machining workflows. Translate insights into scalable improvements via in-line characterization and trade studies; collaborate with internal teams and external partners (DevTeQ). Identify and set up infrastructure for surface post-processing for different materials.Education/experience: Master’s or PhD in Materials Science/Chemical Engineering/Physics/Engineering Physics or related; 4+ years hands-on process improvement; project management leading/coordinating fabrication in academic/industrial setting.Sought expertise: Strong foundation in materials science (preferably SRF cavities) with real-world fabrication/surface/process development. Root cause/failure analysis to improve processes. Develop robust SOPs.
