Our quantum computing platform, built on bosonic codes, represents promising direction in the field. While it is less mature than more “mainstream” approaches, this emerging technology opens up exceptional opportunities for discovery and innovation. Key questions—quantum error-correcting code design, fault-tolerant operation, and the compilation of circuits down to control pulses—are not only central to our mission but are vibrant areas of active research across the scientific community. Working within the architecture team the candidate will:- Define, lead and manage projects to research new bosonic multimode codes- Develop the theory of fault-tolerance in the context of bosonic codes- Propose key demonstrations in the technology roadmap- Lead interactions with key research partners- Perform a tight watch on the relevant scientific literature Education and experience requirements:- PhD in quantum information, theoretical physics, mathematics or theoretical computer science- 1-5 years of work experience in industry (including post-doc) Sought expertise and knowledge:- Quantum error correction- Fault-tolerant quantum computing- Bosonic codes, multimode grid codes in particular- Advanced level in English, to communicate with international team members- Circuit-QED, an asset- Numerical simulation, an asset- Python know-how, an asset- Intermediate knowledge of French, an asset Salary: $149 380 – $175 000Vacation: 5 weeks per yearBenefits: Group insurance (including dental care), virtual care, lifestyle spending account (all available after 3 months of service)Working language: English and/or FrenchWorkplace: Espace Quantique 1, 1950 rue Roy, Sherbrooke, QC, J1K 1B7
