About the Role
As a Bilingual Senior Risk Analyst you will be responsible for detecting, investigating, preventing and dealing with fraudulent activities that may compromise the integrity of our payments platform. Your expertise in risk operations, investigations and client communication will be instrumental in protecting the business and delivering exceptional customer experience in both English and French. You will also work on Analytics and Reporting and help build more of that expertise in-house.
What You'll Do
- Work collaboratively with others on the Risk team to implement proactive measures and strategies that prevent fraudulent activities, including enhancing existing policies and procedures, processes and fraud detection systems.
- Oversee daily alerts that require Onboarding approvals, rejections or escalations.
- Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative investigations of suspicious activities, determining the level of risk and potential impact on the platform and customers.
- Help improve recovery practices and manage cases with relevant 3rd parties.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Marketing, Product, Experience and Security to share insights, collaborate on fraud-related matters, and implement necessary improvements.
- Monitor and analyze transactions and account activities to identify trends, anomalies, suspicious spikes, potential fraud, and unauthorized access attempts and, in tandem, opine on and improve upon monitoring rules; help build more of that expertise in-house
- Stay up to date on best practices related to Fraud Prevention; assist in developing training materials and conduct training sessions for team members
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Data Science or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in fraud prevention or risk management within the payments industry or financial services sector.
- Fluent proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken) is essential for effective communication with our diverse customer base.
- Have grit and the ability to stay calm in stressful situations. You embrace feedback and learning loops to continuously improve
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and evolving environment, adjusting strategies to address emerging fraud trends. You understand the importance of speed when dealing with fraud.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability of willingness to learn how to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Familiarity with fraud and risk tech stack
- Collaborative and able to work effectively within a team environment, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve common goals.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
