Your Impact
Vision & Strategy: You will create and own Plooto's Data Vision and Strategy as we enter the next iteration of our Data Platform. You will partner with Plooto's internal teams (Product, Engineering, Growth, etc.) to identify top-level requirements and develop strategies to align against the Data Team's Vision. Our goal is to empower internal teams with access to the data and work towards enabling data-as-a-product to provide insights to our customers. To succeed, you need to be able to communicate value across all levels of the company, from CEO to individual contributor.
Data Ambassador: You will deploy Data Governance strategies and frameworks to support the company's goals, including:
Security - Enabling insights for the right people with the right data at the right time, including compliance with Information Security Policies, data access/retention and monitoring policies, and incident/breach response.
Availability - Data is easily accessible and consumable by business functions.
Usability - Fostering a data-driven culture by driving data literacy, learning loops, documentation, and ease of access.
Integrity - Create a single source of truth that tells the same story for our stakeholders each and every time.
People: As a Leader, you will empower your team to drive their projects from inception to completion with a high bar for standard. You will provide expert-level coaching and feedback to the leadership of the data team, driving transformational change. You will provide weekly data-driven insights into team's operational efficiencies and progress on OKRs, understand risks and propose paths to 'green'. Identifying existing and future gaps in the Data Team and building strategies to mitigate them will set you on the path to success.
Your Background
Experience: The selected candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in data analysis and management, preferably at a Fintech SaaS company. Further, at least 10 years of experience in progressively responsible leadership roles (through to the senior management level), managing medium to large-sized teams and cross-functional initiatives. You have worked in a scaling start-up environment and understand the challenges of balancing velocity, budget, and quality. The selected incumbent will have a bachelor’s degree in a field like data science, computer science or statistics.
Technical Experience: You bring deep technical expertise in data architecture, modelling, and governance practices and have a track record of building this from the ground up. You have intimate knowledge of data science workflows, statistical methods, and machine learning. You have proven experience in managing and delivering complex data projects in an agile environment that the business can easily revert and make decisions from. Lastly, you deeply understand cloud-based Big Data technologies and platforms and how they can be leveraged in a start-up environment.
Communication: You possess robust collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills, being able to communicate at the executive and board levels. You have a track record reflecting successful management and delivery of intricate data projects within the dynamic framework of an agile environment. You are results-driven and have a forward-thinking approach which drives impactful change throughout the organization, aligning efforts with strategic goals.
Leadership: You have a reputation for being a coach and mentor. You understand how to drive teams to achieve big wins. You have deep experience in recruiting, developing, and scaling a high-performing sales team with accountability across revenue and growth goals. You are an exceptional communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
