We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting to lead a growing and dynamic accounting team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in developing the team and building a world-class accounting organization to help scale Sonder’s rapidly growing business.
You will partner with internal stakeholders in Financial Planning & Strategy, Treasury, Tax, and various other departments to ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate financial results. You will own business process transformation, design and maintain accounting policies, and lead systems implementations. This is a unique opportunity to scale our global accounting operations and make Sonder the most loved hospitality brand in the world.
The Opportunity:
Actively manage all aspects of financial close including global consolidated financial statement reporting; reviewing month-end financials for accuracy and quality to ensure compliance with GAAP.
Drive process improvements and optimize efficiencies in the accounting and reporting areas, including elimination or streamlining of manual or non-effective tasks.
Oversee compliance for specific international entities including country-specific statutory audits requiring the preparation of analysis and other supporting schedules, details, and information to support the annual statutory and corporate audits.
Design, implement and manage accounting policies and procedures to support the company's global strategies.
Assist with providing supporting schedules and information for annual and quarterly tax provisions, year-end tax return support, and other local tax compliance.
Assist with implementing company-wide internal control compliance.
Mentor and develop the staff and other professionals across the finance organization.
Collaborate closely with other finance managers to support overall department goals and objectives and work closely with business partners inside and outside of finance with regard to financial results, special reporting requests and special projects.
Manage process and workflow changes in NetSuite.
Who We Look For:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or finance
9+ years of progressive experience; ideally a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or regional equivalent) and industry experience
CPA/CA required
Deep knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, with an understanding of currency exchange issues, consolidations and eliminations
Knowledge and experience with accounting procedures under ASC 606
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work on cross-functional activities and form solid business relationships
Previous experience working in a large ERP (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) environment
Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proven ability to clearly and concisely implement new processes and effectively communicate with a global workforce
Experience working in fast-growing startup environment is highly preferred
International finance/accounting management experience working for a US multi-national company with a complex legal entity structure a plus!
