The Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer supports manufacturing and production test activities for products based on SPARK’s Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology and contributes to the design and development of embedded UWB systems across target markets, including HID, audio, IoT, industrial applications, and asset tracking.

This role plays a critical part in enabling efficient product introductions and stable production ramps across EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production phases. Acting as a key liaison between engineering teams, FAEs, and OEM/ODM customers, the successful candidate will help drive manufacturing excellence, yield improvement, and rapid issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing & Production Support (UWB Products)
  • Provide hands-on technical support to OEM/ODM customers and Field Application Engineers (FAEs) throughout EVT, DVT, PVT, and production ramp phases.
  • Lead troubleshooting activities related to manufacturing issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in on-site product bring-up activities during critical New Product Introduction (NPI) phases.
  • Collaborate closely with FAEs to ensure clear, timely, and effective technical communication with customers.
  • Track, document, and resolve technical issues using internal systems and processes.
  • Production Test Development & Optimization (UWB Systems)
  • Design, develop, and optimize production test stations, fixtures, and calibration procedures.
  • Develop test methodologies and improve production test setups for accuracy, reliability, and throughput.
  • Analyze production and test data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • RF & Embedded Systems Engineering Support
  • Contribute to embedded systems engineering, system validation, and debugging activities.
  • Support RF/UWB investigations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Help improve overall product robustness, manufacturability, and production readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in hardware, embedded systems, or RF engineering.
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on manufacturing support experience for embedded products, including EVT, DVT, PVT, and production ramp phases.
  • Strong experience with production testing, manufacturing ramp-up, and yield optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging tools, lab instrumentation, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Solid embedded systems experience.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RF and/or Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies.
  • Experience working with OEMs, ODMs, or contract manufacturers (CMs).
  • Experience developing automated production test systems.
  • Background in consumer electronics or IoT products.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
