Customer Marketing
Transit
Marketing & Communications, Customer Service
Montreal, QC, Canada
CAD 80k-100k / year + Equity
More than 180 transit agencies are partnered with our (very suitably-named) company, Transit. When riders glance at their phones to check an upcoming bus or train, they’re greeted with our app’s rainbow rows of ETAs, super precise trip plans, and pop quiz questions about local service. Is the bus late? Does the stop have a place to sit? Is it accessible? That data is then shared with our transit agency friends, who use the insights gathered from Transit riders to improve service on the ground.
As our agency partners grow year after year, month after month, we’ve seen persistent — but inconsistent! — surges in ridership growth in those cities. Some transit agencies do a marvelous job at promoting the app: with websites and bus shelters bedecked in Transit QR codes, well-appointed stories placed in all the newspapers and blogs, and new features communicated to riders with gusto. Other agencies have a harder time, with fewer resources to dedicate to marketing Transit. Even if the desire’s there!
That’s where you come in. As our newest customer marketing hire, you’ll ensure all transit agencies get the absolute most out of their partnership with Transit. One part project manager, one part marketing strategist, you’ll attend meetings and develop campaigns to make sure agencies big and small are apprised of best marketing practices and equipped to make those campaigns a resounding success. You’ll write press releases and launch kits, making sure the way agencies communicate about Transit is consistent and accurate. You’ll help launches go off without a hitch, put your organizational chops and attention to detail to good use, help us drive user growth in new partnership markets, and fill our agency partners with surprise and delight at every juncture.

👨💻 A note on diversity
Public transit is used by overwhelmingly more women and people of colour than other modes of transportation. We try to make sure the diversity of our users is reflected in the team that serves them. Because when we include people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, ages, and identities — we end up building a better app for everyone who uses Transit.
We encourage candidates of all ages, genders, origins and orientations to apply. If you’d like to specify which pronouns you use, feel free to include that in your application email.
And if your lived experience has given you a unique perspective on all things transportation, mobility, accessibility, urbanism? Let us know, and we’ll make sure your application gets the attention it merits.
