Job Description
As part of the marketing team and reporting to the Vice-President Brand & Product Marketing, the Technical Writer role at Vention will produce clear and concise technical documentation that includes user manuals, API documentation, release notes, and more. Your role will involve collaborating with subject matter experts and other team members to gather information and transform complex technical concepts into accessible and user-friendly content. You will also translate documentation into several languages, ensuring our website and technical part library are current.
Role and responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation that meets organizational standards.
- Gain a deep understanding of products and services and translate complex information into straightforward, polished, engaging content.
- Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
- Write user-friendly content that meets the target audience's needs, turning insights into language for user success.
- Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
- Work closely with product managers and technical teams to understand their needs and requirements.
- Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
- Writing white papers and technical pieces with the CEO and certain C-suite executives.
- Keep a precise organization of the files (versioning and update lists)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a technical writer, with a portfolio of previous work.
- Experience in automation, robotics, and technical manufacturing equipment is an important asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills: clarity, precision, consistency, conciseness, and keen eye for detail.
- Bilingual (an asset) ;
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into simple, easy-to-understand documentation.
- Understand the various audiences to tailor to their needs and expertise.
- Capacity to manage multiple stakeholders and organize requests.
- Experience with documentation translation and agency management.
- Strong organizational skills and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
