Chief of Staff

Hi! I’m Milad, co-founder and CEO at Nomic.

I’m looking for a strategic partner to help drive the most critical initiatives at Nomic. As my Chief of Staff, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the company runs smoothly, while also working on challenging cross-functional projects.

This isn’t just about supporting operations—you’ll be working at the intersection of project management and business operations to help us scale quickly and seamlessly while staying focused on our goals. You’ll collaborate closely with me and our leadership team to prioritize and manage OKRs, as well as build and streamline the Nomic Operating System.

You don’t need to have been a Chief of Staff before, but you should have strong experience in project management, operations, and a knack for solving complex or ambiguous problems. If you’re excited about the idea of helping scale a fast-growing biotech company and making a real impact, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting our leadership team by keeping projects on track, attending key meetings, connecting-dots and facilitating communication across the company.

  • Developing the Nomic Operating System to ensure everything runs smoothly across teams.

  • Helping me optimize my schedule and improve my delegation so I can focus on the most impactful work.

  • Leading company-wide projects and helping me with strategic planning and investor communications.

  • Identifying issues before they become problems and suggesting ways to improve our processes and efficiency.

About Us

Nomic was founded with a simple but ambitious goal: to make biology easier to measure. We’ve developed nELISA, the world’s highest throughput proteomic platform, by tackling some of the toughest challenges in protein profiling through a combination of DNA nanotechnology, high-dimensional flow cytometry, lab automation, and machine learning.

Since spinning out of McGill University, we’ve partnered with dozens of top-tier drug discovery groups, including 6 of the top 10 pharma companies, and have profiled over 60 million proteins from more than 400,000 samples to date.

We recently closed a $42M Series B round, which is helping us scale rapidly to meet growing demand and expand our platform’s capabilities. You can read more about this in our latest press release. Our state-of-the-art facility is capable of profiling over 2.5 million samples a year, generating 500 million protein assays.

We’re a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and problem-solvers who thrive on breaking down difficult challenges using first principles thinking, and we leverage the latest scientific and technological breakthroughs to drive our mission forward.

About You

I’m looking for someone who can get things done. You’re a problem-solver who can learn new tools quickly, ask the right questions, ask for help/feedback when needed, and figure out how to keep things running efficiently. You’ve got a knack for building processes and know how to roll them out for large teams.

You’re organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. If you love working across different teams and functions and thrive in an environment where no two days are the same, this role will be a great fit.

Importantly, you care about our mission of extending lives and have a deep respect for life science R&D groups—whether you’ve worked in one yourself or just appreciate the impact they bring.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or something similar. MBA is a bonus.

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a startup.

  • Strong project management skills and experience using tools like Monday, Notion, or Airtable.

  • Excellent communicator who can engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex information and make smart decisions.

  • Self-starter who’s comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
